Jonathan Packman, AMFT, APCC

Therapy is different for every individual. I work with adults, couples, families, and children between the ages of 5-18. Working with children in therapy is very different from working with adults. Young children are generally not able to verbally express their feelings and emotions. For this reason, I work to gain comfort and trust through non-directive play therapy, including games, art, sports or music. My approach to supporting adolescents is to develop a safe space that’s free of expectations.

I work from a strength-based and client-centered approach to counseling, which includes narrative therapy, solution-focused therapy and motivational interviewing. Mental performance coaching for athletes, service members, first responders and business executives is another area of focus in my counseling practice. Adjustment to a new role, project or work situation is a particular stressor that often requires attention in therapy.

Together we will work to create a secure therapeutic relationship to support you to build the life that you want. Please contact me to schedule a free 15 minute consultation to help you determine if I'm the right therapist for you or your family member.
